Vinton Cerf comes to CDT and Luleå! Vinton cerf is one of the fathers of the Internet and TCP/IP and is today the Senior Vice President of Technology Strategy at MCI. He is an honorary doctor at LTU since 1998. His presentation will be on the future of the Internet, including his pet project on 'interplanetary Internet'. |

Sara Svensson accepted for a PhD-Polis project in collaboration with Monash University
[2005-01-15] The faculty board has approved a PhD-Polis project in collaboration with the IT-faculty of Monash University in Australia, financing her studies with 400 kkr per year for three years which includes a six month stay down under. |

[2005-01-01] Johnny Widén is in charge to create a media lab, that will be finished by march 2005 and utilized by the course in tele-presense production. |
A year of hardships, but a final plus
The division ended up with a 600 kkr plus for 2004, even if the year was full of hardships.

The budgets for the vITal projects ABC, Community
and Situate are now
decided for LTU. LTU/Medieteknik get roughly 2.2 Mkr 2003 and 3.5 Mkr 2004.
An additional sum of equal size is either rasied from faculty money or other
funding organizations like Vinnova.
